Binocular rubber eyecup replacement6/11/2023 Smaller binoculars only need one thick rubber O-ring around the eyepieces to keep eyeglass lenses safe from scratching. Usually it only takes two rubber O-rings per eyepiece & I'm in business. ![]() Since I wear eyeglasses, my next step is to put some oversized rubber O-rings around the eyepiece housings, to keep from scratching my eyeglass lenses. They are usually glued down lightly & can be pulled of with a little effort. When I want to get in closer to the eyepiece lenses I completely remove any fold down rubber eyecups. With my Orion 30x80 I only fold the rubber eyecups half of the way down. With my Barska 30x80 I have to fold the rubber eyecups all the way down. ![]() I get an acceptable view, while wearing my eyeglasses. ![]() With my 30x80mm binoculars it is just a matter of folding down the rubber eyecups until You did not mention whether or not you have tried with the eyecups all the way down.
